1. About Message Deck

Message Deck is an online service that allows users to create, curate, and share digital message decks — collections of personal messages and media that can be sent to a recipient as a gift. These terms govern your use of the service at messagedeck.co.

By creating an account or using Message Deck, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Your account

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Message Deck to:

  • Upload, post, or transmit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or obscene.
  • Impersonate any person or entity.
  • Send unsolicited messages or spam.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its infrastructure.
  • Use the service in a way that could damage, disable, or impair it.

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Content ownership and licence

You own your content. Messages, images, audio recordings, and other material you or contributors add to a deck remain yours (or theirs). We do not claim ownership of user-generated content.

Licence to operate the service. By submitting content to Message Deck, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and deliver that content as required to operate the service — for example, to render deck cards and send delivery emails. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

Contributor content. When someone adds a card to your deck, they grant you and us equivalent rights over their contribution for the same purpose.

5. Payments

What you're paying for

Message Deck is free to use. We offer an optional one-time payment to extend the active life of a deck link by one year.

No refunds

All payments are final and non-refundable. By completing a payment you confirm you understand this.

Price changes

We may change prices at any time. Price changes will not affect payments already completed.

6. Service availability

We aim to keep Message Deck available and reliable, but we make no guarantee of uptime or uninterrupted access. The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We may suspend or discontinue the service at any time with or without notice.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Message Deck is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50 — whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

8. Termination

By you: You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deleting your account will remove your decks and personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, engage in illegal activity, or if we decide to discontinue the service. We will endeavour to give you reasonable notice except where immediate action is required to protect other users or the service.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The Last updated date at the top reflects the most recent revision. For material changes we will provide prominent notice on the site or by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after notice constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
